BLOWTORCH RECORDS: WXSW SHOWCASE

West x Sound West (WXSW) is a night conceived by Michael Smyth of Old Crows Promotions in conjunction with John O’Connor of A Modern Movement to celebrate one of Ireland’s best independent record labels, Blowtorch Records. The showcase takes place May 1st in the Róisín Dubh, Galway.

The label was founded by Richard Burke in 2019 and has since not so quietly been releasing music by some of the most exciting artists coming out of Ireland. Situated in Galway on the west coast of Ireland, the label offers a boutique home for Irish bands and artists and those further afield. They pride themselves on being ‘The Future Sound Of Ireland’.

WXSW will showcase some of the label's roster past and present with Belfast shoegazers, Virgins and Galway’s own, Adore, headlining the respective stages. The line up is completed by Nerves, Nixer, Scattered Ashes, The Savage Hearts, Some Remain, Innuendo and the night will continue into the wee hours with The Swedish Railway Orchestra. A massive line up that spans the length of the country and as many genres.

Early bird tickets are available for €10 until the end of February with advance tickets for €15 and tickets on the door at €18.
