Working both digitally and with my ancient Pentax camera using expired film, I aim to bring a sense of nostalgia to my images. Growing up in a working class area, I am interested in finding humour in the mundane, humdrum and sometimes bleak situations and environments we find ourselves in. My work explores socioeconomic issues and the effects austerity has had on communities in the west of Ireland. My goal is to find aesthetics and beauty in the everyday, bringing colour and playfulness to our otherwise monotonous existence.

In late 2020, images from a series I started during lockdown were selected by Coffeewerk and Press in Galway for their Homebound Collection coffee range.

I graduated from Gray's School of Art in Scotland 2012. I've exhibited in Glasgow, Dublin, Belfast and my hometown of Galway. For more info contact me at endaburke@hotmail.com or follow my social links.
