Stay Free Old Stranger was originally recorded in the same session as Postcards with Mike O'Dowd in Lakeland Studios. It has now been rerecorded with Dan Fox at Sonic Studios in Dublin.

Lara's song writing chops plainly arrived early as this track sees the Adore sound fully formed - arpeggiated punky verses leading into a skycraping chorus. Melodic, authentic, hypnotic.

Written by frontwoman Lara Minchin as a teenager, it's a musing on people who you see on a daily basis yet who you don’t know much about; those old strangers who you encounter and chat with - and maybe imbue with too much respect - but never actually know.

Once again there is a spoken word section (after what sounds like a free jazz breakdown - fret not dear listener it's short and it works!) - although this time more light hearted than on Can We Talk?

Cos honestly I don't think you're that bad of a person

But I genuinely don't think we can ever be friends

How could you not love it?

The band have also announced a short tour of the bottom half of the UK in May along with two gigs in Paris, after April dates supporting Chalk in Belfast.

They have been added to the lineup for Ireland's All Together Now festival on the weekend of July 31; and also are appearing at Brighton, Manchester and Edinburgh psych fests.

Closer to home, they will headline the upstairs stage of WXSW - the Blowtorch Records showcase event - in Galway's Róisín Dubh on May 1.

If you are looking for any Adore tracks on vinyl, the only one currently available is Postcards on our showcase compilation vinyl LP.
