Themes of defiance, misunderstanding, and rejection run throughout the tracks, resonating with the challenges faced by today’s youth. on occasion is more than just a collection of songs - it's a journey toward self-acceptance and emotional clarity, offering listeners a powerful soundtrack to their own struggles and triumphs.

While the lyrical concerns will be familiar to many who experience the difficulties of navigating Ireland's broken rental sector and Government indifference to the concerns of the cultural fabric of society, along with their own social and parasocial relationships, the music may not be so recognisable.

The tracks, united by and simultaneously celebrating their differences, are rich in melody and hooks; and a world away from the jagged, sprechgesang-spitting spleen of the current crop of Irish guitar bands.

Ranging from Cocteau Twins-esque ethereal, chiming alt pop (clear motion) to 70s sounding stompers driven by guitar (don't ask away, astros blue) or piano (brake faster), reminiscent of Sparks, early Roxy Music or Aladdin Sane era Bowie, iNNUENDO are setting out their stall as purveyors of an eclectic, arty alt rock sound. The tracks, united by and simultaneously celebrating their differences, are rich in melody and hooks; and a world away from the jagged, sprechgesang-spitting spleen of the current crop of Irish guitar bands.

This is no mere pastiche however; the contrasting song styles, shifting time signatures and baroque pop elements bring to mind peers such as The Last Dinner Party or English Teacher.

on occasion navigates the emotional highs and lows of taxing, undefined relationships, capturing the journey from delusion to acceptance through rich sonic soundscapes and heartfelt hooks. Influenced by the expressive and experimental nature of art rock, iNNUENDO's sound delivers a first-hand narrative that reflects the complexity of these experiences.

As Dan Hegarty wrote in The Goo: “Do you ever come across music that you rate so highly, you feel that it’s your obligation to tell anyone that will listen that they should listen to it as soon as humanly possible? With that in mind, if you haven’t listened to iNNUENDO yet, you might want to add it to your to-do list. on occasion, their debut EP, lands this month. Featuring their current single Brake Faster, the band harnesses an irresistible energy, while penning songs that you’ll find hard to forget.”

on occasion was recorded and produced by Daniel De Burca, and mixed by Alex Borwick. The artwork is by Keelin Sutcliffe.
