Nerves release second single 'Thirteen' from debut EP

Irish inustrial noise punk trio Nerves have released the second single Thirteen from upcoming EP Glórach

Track: Thirteen

Band: Nerves

Released: February 9 2024

Further to the extremely well received Empty, taken from upcoming EP Glórach, Nerves return with their second single Thirteen.

As frontman Kyle mentioned in our podcast, Thirteen is likely the most conventional track on Glórach in terms of song structure. That's conventional compared to the other four tracks on the EP.

What marks them apart from their peers is the exquisite control they exert over the dynamic transitions from loud to quiet and back to loud.

L-R Kyle Thornton (guitar/vocals), Charlie McCarthy (bass), Adam Nealon (drums),

Combining extreme dynamics of loud and quiet with spitting and fuzzing guitar, precise drums and heavily effected bass, Nerves marry gothic punk and industrial noise. They even throw in a lovely melody and something like a regular verse/chorus vibe.

They demonstrate mastery not only of their chosen instruments (not the same as technical proficiency although they may possess that too - I mean they can bend their sound as required for the song), but also of songwriting craft too.

What marks them apart from their peers is the exquisite control they exert over the dynamic transitions from loud to quiet and back to loud. And the ability to thrill with extended noise interludes.

Thirteen is out now on all streaming platforms and the ruby coloured vinyl EP is available to order for delivery in early March.
