In a very meta and self manifesting move, Dublin power pop four piece Soundstrand have renamed to STRAND and released their first single under the new name - Progress.
As they say "...Progress is a song about changing places, people and times." Self evidently but there is more going on here.
While retaining their knack of writing melodic, hooky guitar pop, the sound has matured into something a little darker on this release with the lyrics more reflective.

Progress is the first single taken from an upcoming 5 track EP recorded in Transmission Rooms in Longford with producer Keelan O'Reilly. The band play a launch gig in Dublin's Anseo on October 26.
STRAND changed their name from Soundstrand in September 2024. They are a four piece band from Finglas, North Dublin comprising Shane Aherne (bass), Dara Clancy (vocals and lead guitar), David Solola’s (rhythm guitar) and Jude Finn on drums. They released their debut EP If You Hear This, Let Me Know in October 2023, ticking all the Soundstrand boxes - catchy hooks, inventive rhythm and melodies and killer choruses. The follow up American Radio didn't disappoint.
