Creating moody mountains of sound, TV People are back with their second single of 2023 Feel. Small title, massive song.
As it opens with an arpeggio worthy of Johnny Marr circa Reel Around The Fountain, Paul sings "everything is fine... ". If you follow TV People at all, you will know it isn't. Sure enough the following couplet is "crying on the floor, on a Sunday night". You will also know that you are in for an empathetic examination of this existential crisis, accompanied by a simpatico backing falling and rising in tempo and volume.
Listen to the drama at 0:54 as the "I need to feel alive" refrain changes to "that I have time .." and then again at 1:10 as a huge guitar swell accompanies *that I have time and life is real...". You have to wonder how much better this duo can get - this is already incredibly sophisticated songwriting.

From the band's perspective: Feel is a heartfelt and honest expression of emotional repression, vulnerability, pain, denial and healing, which was written during an intense period of personal crisis as a way to make sense of and process overwhelming emotions. The song highlights the perspective of a person who is embarking on a journey to achieve personal growth and inner peace by embracing emotional honesty, vulnerability and self acceptance.
As with previous single Die Down, the track was recorded at Darklands Audio Dublin by Dan Doherty (Fontaines D.C.), mixed by Grammy Award-winning Caesar Edmunds (QOTSA, St. Vincent, and Foals) at Battery London and mastered by Ivan Jackman at Hellfire Studios Dublin.
Die Down and Feel will be on a double A side 7" single due for release in late October. Pre order here:
