TV People is the project of Paul Donohoe (vocals, guitar) and Brendan Clarke (drums); a band who create their dark, atmospheric yet melodic sound from a fusion of alternative rock and post-punk influences.
Since forming in 2019, they have honed their craft in venues throughout Ireland and the UK. They also have a string of acclaimed releases. Kitchen Sinking, Circle and You Were Loved have seen the band tipped by Hot Press as one of their ‘Ones to Watch’. Reviews and plays have also come from CLASH Magazine, The Line of Best Fit, Earmilk, BBC Radio 1, BBC 6Music, Amazing Radio, RTÉ & more.
"Carrying on Ireland's legacy for excellent post-punk, TV People have exploded onto the scene in 2020. Their latest offering is brooding and dark, filled with driving drums and hazy guitars, and reflects on self-destructive behaviour as self-medication" //Hotpress//
“The band's brooding sound matches outright directness to a sense of weighty melancholy, recalling everyone from The Sound to Editors in the process." //CLASH//
The band’s introspective, moody and existential style has received national and international acclaim from leading music magazines, blogs, radio shows and an ever expanding fanbase. TV People built further on their early momentum in 2021 with new tracks and live shows.
Refreshed and inspired anew by the relentlessness, energy and sheer indomitable spirit of Dublin post Covid, their single Out of the Silence was released in July 2021.
Late August 2021 saw their debut EP Nothing More released digitally and on vinyl. 2022 saw two single releases and further development in the shape of Circle and You Were Loved.
